Warrington Lantern Parade

The Warrington Lantern Parade took place on Thursday 11 December 2014

Although it was a windy, cold night, the rain stayed away for the fifth Warrington Lantern Parade.

Lantern making workshops had taken place at various Primary Schools, community centres, Libraries from the beginning of November culminating in an illuminated street parade throughout the town centre.

Lead by Liverpool Lantern Company, the parade was joined by a whole host of groups and participants including Huskies and a marching band.

To coincide with the Panto at Parr Hall in January 2016, the theme of the parade this year will be ‘Dick Whittington’ .

We will be organising loads of Lantern making workshops at schools, libraries, community centres, the Museum and around the town centre.  Workshops are FREE so watch this space for more details of when and where you can make a lantern and take part in the parade.

If you would like to find out more or you’d like to get involved to be one of our lantern helpers then please email: arts@culturewarrington.org

The Parade is scheduled to take place on Thursday 10 December 2015.
